Lentilfest is here! The National Lentil Festival kicked off this morning with the Taste T. Lentil mini-golf tournament, and continues through this evening and tomorrow.
If you’re planning to attend—and we’d love to see you out here in Pullman—make sure to stop by the PNW Co-op Specialty Foods booth near the PNW Co-op/Whole Foods Market Cooking Demo Stage. All weekend, PNW Co-op has some great merchandise on sale, and they’ll be donating a portion of their sales of special t-shirts, legumes, and cookbooks to the local Second Harvest hunger relief network.
Buy a $20 t-shirt, a $10 cookbook, or a $10 bag of lentils, garbanzo beans, or green split peas, and PNW Co-op will donate $5 from every item sold to Second Harvest. Second Harvest then turns every $1 donated into five (5!) meals for neighbors in need.
“Our farmers are dedicated to making sure that all of our neighbors have access to healthy, local food, and this is a fun way to help make that happen,” Kim Davidson of PNW Co-op said.
Hope to see you there! If you are, don’t hesitate to stop and say hi.
