Tomorrow, I’ll be helping Whole Foods Market celebrate a huge milestone: The 15th anniversary of the Roosevelt Square store in Seattle.
This is significant for Whole Foods, and for me personally. This store was the first Whole Foods to open in Washington state, and paved the way for the many other great stores we have in the region.
For me, it’s an anniversary as well. I originally came to Washington to help open the store, and it’s what started me on this terrific journey of connecting with local producers and bringing their products to our customers.
That’s not all, though. One of the things I’m most looking forward to is a check presentation for Heidi Ho Veganics’ latest Local Producer Loan. This loan will help Heidi Ho expand nationally—a huge accomplishment that I’m proud to have played a role in.
If you’re in the area, I would love to see you out at Roosevelt Square. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., we’ll be hosting a From Around Here Producer Fair featuring:
- CB’s Nuts
- Firefly Kitchens
- Willapa Hills
- Simple & Crisp
- Maninis Gluten Free
At 1 p.m., we’ll formally present Heidi Ho with their check. They’ll also be on hand sampling some of their products.
I really hope to see some of you out there!
